Theatre & Media Courses
Theatre Venture runs an extensive adult theatre and media programme in partnership with newceys. The courses generally run for 10 weeks, three times a year. You will need to register for theses courses as soon as possible as they are extremely popular!

Some of the courses available are:

Creative Voice & Relaxation for beginners - Tutor: Michael Hayden
Explore your vocal potential and develop a dynamic voice through this course. Text, song, poetry and choral disciplines, alignment, breathing, projection, resonance, pitch and articulation will all be covered. Please note this is not a singing class.

All About Accents – Tutor: Michael Hayden
What makes an accent? What is your favourite accent? Can you spot the difference between accents? You might want to learn how to speak with an accent for acting purposes or simply want to learn more about your own accent. The course will look at breaking down accents, and we will explore accents through improvisation and some text work. We will study General American, New York and British Isles accents, among others. The tutor is an accent coach who works with professional actors and teaches at Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and Guildford School of Acting.

Digi-Film for beginners – Tutor: Mark Levermore
A weekend course guiding you through the process of devising, planning, shooting and editing a short film over two days. This course will give you an insight into the many aspects of production through practical, hands-on workshops, from idea to screen, using professional digital cameras, sound, lighting and Final Cut-Pro editing.
